Evolution is based on science... As far as I know, creationism has no scientific foundation (currently, mind you), and therefore should not be taught alongside other science topics.
It's fine to teach it under the guise, of say, "Religion & Faith" or something - just don't call it science, and don't teach it a proven fact.
What do you think? Is creationism a valid scientific alternative to evolution in public schools?
Creation Science/Intelligence Design have absolutely no scientific merit. They make no testable predictions and further, have absolutely no valid supporting physical evidence. Intelligent Design is obviously a relabeling of Creationism, as has been ruled time and time again in the courts, including the Supreme Court. It is simply a mask to insert religion into schools.
Richard Dawkins made quite an intriguing proposition in Ben Stein's recent movie ""Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed"" -- a valid theory of ""intelligent design"" would be that some higher intelligence (alien life) existed prior to us, came to Earth and designed us/planted the seeds of life, which then led to the evolution we observe that ultimately led to humans beings. This would be a valid, testable scientific theory. However, even this has little to no evidence for it. Intelligent Design, as it is understood today, makes no such testable predictions and has no evidence whatsoever for it. As such, it is NOT a valid scientific theory.
