Credit scores range from 850 down to 300.

After doing some research as to what this range represents in the real world in terms of credit risk and available interest rates, I came up with the following guide:

  • 850-770: The very best credit, very low risk, the very lowest interest rates
  • 770-730: Excellent credit, low risk, great interest rates
  • 730-720: Average (more specifically, 723 is average)
  • 720-710: Good credit
  • 710-630: Questionable credit, moderate risk
  • 630-610: Poor credit, high risk, high interest rates
  • 610-580: Awful credit
  • 580-300: Painful credit
